Situated in Douglas County in the state of Oregon, Usa, lies the small city of Glendale. They are a professional basketball team from the National Basketball Association.  This team was one of the most successful teams from Oregon in the NBA from the 1970s up until the 1990s. They have a record amount of wins and attendance during this period. The team slipped from its key position in the 200s due to financial hardships as well as personal issues but were able to revive itself following the departure of a few players. The professional Lacrosse team in Portland, Oregon is well known by the name of the Portland LumberJaks. These were part of the National Lacrosse League from their inception in 2006. Their position within the Major League Baseball was confirmed in 2009 leading them to the second professional team in Oregon.  
Some of the other sports teams that make news in this area are in the sports of basketball with four teams as a part of the recent International Basketball League.  Carrying on one of the old traditions in this area is definitely the Civil War; a competitive sport between the Oregon Ducks as well as the Oregon State Beavers.
